Sailability @ Upton Warren

Any participants aged under 18 years old must have a Waiver- General Form of Disclaimer completed by an authorised adult.

What you need to know:

This is a 45 minute sailing session aimed at people with disabilities.  Please book a place just for the disabled sailor, carers do not need to book a place. If you are unsure about your physical suitability, please seek medical advice BEFORE booking a session.

Our sailing sessions aim to provide a sailing experience led by RYA qualified instructors.  No experience is necessary, we have a range of equipment and boats available enabling anyone to have a go at sailing.  We have 2 seater Access Dinghies and larger Cruiser boats where you will be accompanied by a volunteer from Upton Warren Sailing Club whilst sailing around our lake.

We have a motorised Wheely boat where wheelchair users can board and be taken around the lake by one of our team.

There is a hoist available to enable transfer from a wheelchair to Access Dinghies.  The maximum transferable weight is 127kg.

There will be a toilet available for use, there are changing rooms and showers available.  There is a disabled changing room available.

What you need to bring:  (appropriate for the time of year)

• Clothes for on the water such as jogging trousers, sweatshirt, t-shirt
• Spare change of clothes
• Old trainers / wetsuit boots to wear on the water
• Waterproofs
• Warm hat/sun hat
• Sun cream
• Towel
