For individuals 18+yrs.

What you need to know:

This 3 week course is aimed at those who want to build confidence and open water skills using front crawl.  A small group session, you will be supported by our qualified open water coach who will guide you through techniques to enhance your experience and leave you feeling more relaxed and confident in the water. The course will concentrate on these aspects:

  •  
  • Body postioning
  • Breathing 
  • Sighting 
  • Swiming within a group  
  •  

Included within this course are three coached sessions and two open water swimming sessions so that you can pratice what you have learnt between the coached sessions.  

There are toilets, changing rooms and showers available.

Enjoy a refreshing wild swim around a 400 metre course.

All swim courses are to be swam in a clockwise direction around the lake.

The water temperature must be 11 Degrees Centigrade or over for the Open Water Swimming Session to take place.
If the water temperature is 16 Degrees Centigrade or over, you can choose not to wear a wetsuit.

Access and egress from the lake is from the kayak beach, which is on the South West bank of the lake.

What to bring:
•           You must wear a wetsuit if the water temperature is below 16 Degrees Centigrade
•           You must wear a bright coloured swim hat
           Flip-flops / sandles are useful for walking on the gravel path
